All teaching at Scuola di Studi Umanistici e della Formazione is carried out in Italian (with the exception of Geography, spatial management, heritage for international cooperation degree course), so it's essential that your Italian language skills are good enough for you to undertake an intensive and challenging academic course that's taught and examined in Italian.
Therefore, all non-native Italian-speaking applicants must have B1 level knowledge according to the "Common European Framework of Reference for Languages".
Before beginning your studies as an exchange student at Scuola di Studi Umanistici e della Formazione you are required to submit a B1 level certificate according to the "Common European Framework of Reference for Languages". We accept a number of different certificates, including certificates from your own University, as long as they attest that you reached the required level. Attendance to a course is not sufficient. OLS certificates are not accepted.
The certificate must be sent together with other application documents before the application deadlines.
Once you arrive in Italy, you will be offered the possibility to attend an Italian Language Course to improve further your linguistic proficiency. If interested in attending the Italian language course, you can register online on the CLA website. Please note that the Italian Language Course is not an academic exam and does not provide ECTS credits or mark, so it cannot be added to your Learning Agreement.
